Is this just another Ticketmaster alert app?
No — mainstream tours already show up there on their own. Event Sonar exists for the smaller, less obvious stuff: an indie venue booking, a university lecture, a specialised podcast taping.
What if the event isn't ticketed at all?
That's fine — it isn't tied to any one ticketing platform. If it's mentioned publicly anywhere (a venue page, a press release, a calendar listing), it can be found.
How does it find events nobody's advertising?
It runs an AI-assisted web search for each act you track, looking beyond the big aggregators at venue sites, institutional calendars, and local press.
How often does it check my city?
On a recurring schedule (the background worker's refresh interval), plus you can trigger a manual search from the app anytime.
Is it really free?
